The secret lies not in expanding planting areas or adding stores, but in embedding artificial intelligence into every link from the field to the consumer.
Walking into Youyoucao Eyu's intelligent seedling base in Enshi, what first catches the eye is not the traditional "farmers," but rows of sensors and automated inspection robots. Founder Li Guodong told reporters that in the past, seedling cultivation of medicinal herbs heavily relied on the experience of veteran farmers, with germination rates and pest control depending entirely on "watching the sky." Now, by deploying an AI visual recognition system, drones conduct multispectral scans of the 2,000-mu base every three days. Combined with historical meteorological data and soil sensors, the system can predict frost and drought risks 14 days in advance and accurately identify early-stage diseases. "Last summer, during a rare spell of humid and hot weather, the AI model gave an early warning of root rot outbreaks. Today, Youyoucao Eyu has packaged its AI experience into a "Smart Agriculture SaaS Platform" and is exporting it to medicinal herb cooperatives in surrounding counties and cities. Li Guodong stated that the next step is to combine AI with blockchain to achieve full-chain traceability from planting to pharmacy. "We hope to give every pack of 'Youyoucao' herbs a 'digital ID,' allowing consumers to scan a code and see every AI warning and intervention during its growth."
