“We used to rely on the weather; now we rely on the screen,” said Zhang Ming, CTO of Youyoucao E’yu, standing before a smart greenhouse and pointing to real-time data on his phone. This AI system, named “CaoZhiYun,” collects real-time data on soil moisture, light intensity, and pest and disease images through nearly 200 sensor nodes deployed across the mountainous E’yu area. The system’s built-in deep learning model can identify 17 common diseases within 30 seconds, with an accuracy rate exceeding 92%. The penetration of AI is not limited to the cultivation end. At the intelligent sorting center in Yichang, our reporter witnessed six-axis robotic arms sorting wormwood and mint at a rate of 1,200 times per hour. This visual recognition system, co-developed by Youyoucao E’yu and a local university, can automatically grade products based on leaf color, thickness, and odor molecular characteristics.
