However, the transformation has not been smooth sailing. During interviews, reporters learned that the biggest initial resistance came from frontline employees' fear of being replaced by AI. To address this, the enterprise specially established the position of "digital agronomist," training veteran employees to become supervisors of the AI system and data annotators. This approach of "human-machine collaboration" has turned the anxiety of job loss during transformation into motivation for skill upgrading.

From an industry perspective, the case of Youyoucao E'yu reflects a deeper shift in how Chinese enterprises utilize AI: no longer obsessed with "black tech" concepts, but returning to the simple goals of cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and quality control. Especially in the field of non-standardized agricultural products like traditional Chinese medicine, the intervention of AI is reshaping trust mechanisms—consumers can scan a QR code to see the full-chain data of herbs from planting to processing, which is something traditional channels cannot easily achieve.

According to the enterprise, their next step is to expand AI models to include ingredient analysis of traditional Chinese medicine and market sentiment monitoring, and they are attempting to build industry datasets in collaboration with research institutions in Chongqing. At the policy level, both Hubei and Chongqing have recently introduced subsidy measures to support the digital transformation of SMEs, and Youyoucao E'yu has already applied for some special funds.
