“Our factory spent 20,000 yuan last year to have someone build a website, but after six months, we only got three inquiries. I get more from posting a video on Douyin.” Zhang Weimin, who runs a hardware processing plant in Dongguan, recently decided to tear down his old site and start over. His experience is not unique. As spring begins in 2025, with enterprise digital transformation entering a deeper phase, a wave of upgrades centered on "corporate website building" is quietly gaining momentum.
The traditional model of “spending a few thousand yuan on a template, then another few thousand to have someone fill in the content” is being abandoned by a growing number of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). In its place, a new generation of website building services integrating AI content generation, low-code drag-and-drop functionality, and SEO automation engines is emerging. According to the latest data disclosed by industry service provider "Yunzhan Technology," in the first quarter of 2025, orders for AI-assisted corporate website building on its platform surged 240% quarter-over-quarter, and the average website construction period for clients was shortened from 15 days to just 3 days.
“The key point is that business owners today don’t just want a website; they want an ‘online salesperson’ that can drive traffic,” said Li Min, Product Director at Yunzhan Technology, during a recent industry salon. He pointed out that the biggest pain point of traditional corporate website building is that the site “dies as soon as it’s built” — after going live, there is a lack of continuous content updates and search engine optimization capabilities, leaving it as little more than an electronic business card. In contrast, new-generation website building tools, through built-in AI writing modules, can automatically generate articles around long-tail keywords related to the company’s core business, and automatically submit them to search engines, greatly increasing the probability of the site being found.
This trend is also backed by data. According to the "2025 Q1 Corporate Website Building Market Observation Report" released by third-party monitoring agency "Webmaster Home," among the 3,000 micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises surveyed, 68% said they would update or build a new corporate website within the year. “SEO-friendliness” and “automatic content generation capability” surpassed “page aesthetics” as the primary consideration for business owners when choosing a website building service provider.
In Shenzhen’s Huaqiangbei area, Chen Tao, the head of a company specializing in electronic component trading, showed reporters their latest corporate website building results. The entire process—from domain name registration and template selection to AI-driven filling of product introductions and industry news—took only two days. “Previously, writing product descriptions required flipping through manuals for half a day. Now, AI generates selling points directly based on parameters and even automatically matches customer search habits,” Chen Tao said. One month after the new site went live, organic search traffic tripled, and three overseas clients have already made inquiries through the website.
However, beneath the surface of this boom, there are concerns. Some vendors, under the banner of “AI smart website building,” simply integrate generic AI chat interfaces, resulting in low-quality, illogical content, and even industry data errors where “Zhang’s hat is placed on Li’s head.” Industry analyst Wang Lei cautioned that when choosing a website building service, companies should not focus solely on “speed” and “cheapness.” They must also consider whether the AI model has been fine-tuned for specific industries and whether follow-up SEO operation and maintenance support is provided. “Corporate website building is not a one-off transaction; it is a continuous process of content operation and traffic acquisition.”
It is foreseeable that 2025 will become a pivotal year for the transformation of corporate websites from “digital storefronts” to “intelligent customer acquisition engines.” As AI and low-code technology truly permeate every manufacturing workshop and trading company, those that complete their website building upgrades first will gain a competitive edge in the new round of online competition.
